Network DNS Configuration
The Network Properties dialog has two tabs: IP and DNS. Click the DNS tab to
open the Network Properties DNS dialog (Figure 4-10). Use the Network
Properties DNS dialog to enable the DNS Client on the switch and the DNS server
to map domain names to IP addresses. Table 4-6 describes the DNS
configuration parameters.
Discovery Choose one of the following methods by which to
assign the IP address:
Static
— uses the IP configuration parameters
entered in the Network Properties dialog
Dhcpv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
version 6)
— acquires the IP configuration from a
DHCP server. If no satisfactory lease is obtained,
the DHCP client attempts to use the previously
configured lease. If the previous lease cannot be
used, no IP address will be assigned to this
switch in order to avoid an IP address conflict.
NDP — Neighbor Discovery Protocol. Part of the
Stateless Address Auto configuration protocol. It
replaces the Address Resolution Protocol used
with IPv4.
Config IPv6 Address IPv6 address for the Ethernet port
Gateway IPv6 gateway address
