Beforeproceedingtoantennainstallationdetails,thefollowingbackgroundinformation
shouldbeconsidered:

EachRADWIN2000D+ODUismadeoftworadiotransceivers(radios).Theradiosmakeuse
ofalgorithmsthat utilizebothSpatialMultiplexingandDiversityresultinginenhanced
capacity,rangeandlinkavailability.Thenumberofantennas(i.e.radios)usedisdetermined
byuserconfigurationandbyautomaticsystemdecisions,explained
below.
B.2.1DualAntennasattheHBSandanHSU
Whenusingdualantennasatbothsites(singlebipolarantennaortwounipolarantennas)you
canchoosebetweenSpatialMultiplexingModeandDiversityMode.
SpatialMultiplexingMode
Underthismode,thesystemdoublesthelinkcapacity.Atthesametime,itkeepsthesame
rateandmodulationperradioaswasusedwithsingleantenna,thusincreasingcapacity,
rangeandavailability.
Forexample,at80MHzCBW,usingadualantennaRADWIN2000D+cantransmitat
modulationof256QAMandFECof5/6 andgetanairrateof866.7Mbps,comparedto433.3
Mbpswithsingleantenna.
Toworkinthismode,eachantennaportmustbeconnectedtoanantenna,theRSSlevelin
bothreceiversshouldbebalancedandaminimalseparationbetweentheantennasmustbe
