c) Test proper GPS function. An acceptable method for testing GPS function is to
use either SkyWeb and/or FlightMap software to check if a valid position and
GPS time is reported for the installed ISAT-100.
d) If the audio system is connected, place a phone call. Verify that the phone
connects and the audio volume levels are adequate on both ends of the call.
4.8.2 Post Installation/ Configuration
a) Connect peripheral devices and move aircraft to a location with unrestricted
visibility of the sky.
b) Turn on aircraft master/avionics switch. Power and Charge LED should light up
immediately followed by the BAT, MDM and GPS LED. The MDM or GPS LED
will blink steadily when trying to obtain a lock and will remain on solid once a
lock has been obtained. This could take up to 2 minutes depending on how
many satellites are in clear view. Note that it is normal for the GPS and MDM
LEDs to blink occasionally as satellites move in and out of range. If the ISAT is
locked to less than 4 GPS satellites once a GPS lock has been obtained, the
GPS LED will blink in a repeating pattern of: two quick blinks, on solid.
Optional: If the audio system is connected a tone should be heard when the
ISAT starts up.
c) Test connected audio system and peripheral devices, place a phone call. Verify
that the phone connects and the audio volume levels are adequate on both
ends of the call. If a blackberry is installed, an acceptable method to verify
communication is to send a text message and verify it is received, or place a
successful phone call.
d) Test proper GPS function. An acceptable method for testing GPS function is to
use either SkyWeb and/or FlightMap software to check if a valid position and
GPS time is reported for the installed ISAT-100.
e) Turn master/ avionics switch off. Power and Charge LED should turn off
immediately. Wait for up to 5.5 minutes, the BAT, MDM and GPS LED should
turn off as the unit goes into sleep mode. Contact dispatch to verify receipt of
data. If dispatch is not available or base software has not been set up, contact
SkyTrac Systems.
4.8.3 EMI Test

The purpose of this test report is to verify that the operation of the ISAT-100 does not
interfere with basic aircraft systems and avionics. The ISAT-100 and PDA should be
installed and function tested.
