Disconnecting the drive from the personal computer
Follow the procedure below to disconnect this drive from your computer.
(The following procedures are for Windows Vista.)
Notes
• Before disconnecting the drive, remove the disc inserted in the drive.
• If the message below appears when you attempt to disconnect the drive, close any
programs or Windows currently in use with the drive, wait for a while and then repeat
the procedure.
“Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device. The device cannot be stopped right now,
as it is in use. Close any programs or Windows currently in use with the device, then try
again”.
The icon appears on the taskbar when the drive is recognized by the
computer. To disconnect the drive from the computer, use the
icon.
1 Click the icon on the taskbar.
The “Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device” message appears.
2 Click “Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device”.
The message “The USB Mass Storage Device device can now be
safely removed from the system” appears.
3 Disconnect the USB cable.
