startercover.
Note:Thereplacementspring
comesreadyforinstallationand
issecuredwithawasher.
-Itshouldbelubricatedwithafew
dropsofSTIHLspeciallubricant
beforeinstallation-see11.2.
•
Thewasherslipsofftherewind
springasitispushedintothefan
startercover.Engagetheouter
springloopintherecessinthe
startercoveratthesametime.
Caution:Therewindspringmay
popoutanduncoilduring
installation.
-Iftherewindspringhaspopped
out,refititasfollows:
-Windupthespringinyourhand,
startingoutsideandworking
inwards,andtensionittoa
diameterof55mm(2.16").
•
Thenusepointednosepliers
togriptherewindspringabout
10mm(0.4")fromtheendof
theouterloopandplaceitin
thestartercover.
•
Checkthepositionofthe
innerspringloop.Itshouldbe
2mm(0.08")awayfromthe
hub(seeA).
