8.3.3) Adjustment of Thread Take-up Lever Spring
1) Functions of Thread Take-up Lever Spring
If the upper thread supplied by the thread take-up lever is different from the upper thread pulled by the
hook in length, it causes the sagging of the upper thread.
The thread take-up spring removes the length difference by increasing the operation scope of the thread
take-up lever spring or increasing the tension of the spring. This way, the upper thread can be separated
from the fabric, strengthening the tightness of embroidery status.
○ Proper Location of Thread Take-up Lever Spring
The thread take-up spring stopper tightly contacts the
spring.
The thread take-up lever spring stopper does not contact
the spring (this is caused by the weak tension of the
thread take-up spring or the inappropriate location of the
spring stopper.)

2) Adjustment of the Thread Take-up Lever
Spring
① The tension of the thread take-up lever
spring affects the tightness of thread
according to embroidery conditions. The
tension of the thread take-up lever spring
rises by turning the thread adjuster shaft
clockwise as in the figure. The tension
declines by turning the thread adjuster shaft
counter-clockwise.
② If it is desired to adjust the tightness of
thread by changing the operation scope of
the thread take-up lever spring, move the
thread take-up lever spring stopper
grounding left or right as in the figure. This
way it is possible to change the operation
scope of the thread take-up lever spring.
