_- Listening to tapes
To reset the tape counter
Press COUNTER RESET.
When the tuner or CD mode display shows, the tape counter display
will appear for about 1 second.
To reset the tape counter while listening to or
recording from CDs or the radio §
@) Press DISPLAY.
@)Press COUNTER RESET while the tape counter
is being displayed (displayed for approximately
5 seconds).
For your reference:
e\WVhen the tape is travelling in the reverse direction, the value dis-
played on the tape counter will count down.
After “000_” is reached, the display will switch to “999_” and then
continue counting down.
elt is useful—for example—to reset the counter when recording
from the middle of tapes. The number lets you know roughly where
you started from.
About the playback indicators:
While halted, fast forwarding, or rewinding:
Lights up orange.
While playing or recording:
Lights up green.
While finding the beginning of a program or recording is on standby:
Flashes green.
Press [TPS] << or >» [TPS] while the tape is in the stop
mode.

Hi-speed fast-forward/rewind
This cassette deck is designed to roughly double fast-forward /re-
wind speed automatically.
When you fast-forward from the beginning of the tape or rewind
from the end of it, the tape runs at high speed and the HIGH SPEED
FF/REW lamp flashes.
When reaching the end of the tape, the deck automatically drops to
normal speed.
