Cleaning
Use these procedures to clean your instrument. If additional cleaning is required, have your instrument serviced by qualifi ed
service personnel.
Exterior Cleaning
Clean the ex
terior surfaces of the chassis with a dry lint-free cloth or a soft bristle b rush. If any dirt remains, use a cloth or
swab dipped in a 75% isopropyl alcohol solution. Use a swab to clean narrow spaces around controls and connectors. Do
not use abrasive compounds on any part of the chassis.
Clean the O n/Standby switch using a dampened cleaning towel. Do not spray or wet the switch directly.
CAUTION.
Improper cleaning agents, methods, or excessive force can damage the instrument. Do not use chemical
cleaning agents that might damage the plastics used in this oscilloscope. Use only deionized water when cleaning the
front-panel buttons. Use a 75% isopropyl alcohol solution as a cleaner and rinse with deionized water. Before using any
other typ
e of cleaner, consult your Tektronix Service Center or representative.
To preve
nt getting moisture inside the instrument during external cleaning, use only enough liquid to dampen the cloth
or applicator.
