1.2. General Information
Performance Features
The Behnke intercom stations of the 20, 40,
50 series and special models with hybrid
basic electronics are high-quality VoIP or a/b
intercom stations with acoustic echo cancella-
tion for full-duplex hands-free speech in best
voice quality. The operating elements, such as
the loudspeaker, microphone, keypad and call
buttons as well as the electronics are housed in
a double-shell casing and form a compact unit.
The combinable function modules allow maxi-
mum flexibility in planning and application.
With its basic electronics 20-0016-BS, a locally
detached mounting of the electronics is possi-
ble. In this case, observe the wiring method as
described later in this manual.
The voice connection is made via Voice over IP
(VoIP) according to the SIP standard over the
connected Ethernet LAN either with the help of a
SIP-capable telephone system, a SIP provider or
via direct dialling of an IP address. Alternatively,
the hybrid intercom station can be operated as
an analogue telephone on an a/b port. For this,
you need a free a/b port and a power supply
via Behnke PoE injector. Configuration as well
as software updates are performed via a web
browser when operating as a SIP intercom sta-
tion. Alternatively, various configuration steps
can be executed via MFW post-dialling.
Hybrid intercom stations that are operated
as analogue subscribers and do not have a
network connection are configured via MFW
post-dialling. If the call station has a network
connection and an IP address, the configuration
can also be done via web browser.
Power is supplied via LAN (PoE), even when
operating as an analogue intercom station. The
intercom stations have two relays with freely
configurable floating switching outputs for
door opening, call indication or other switch-
ing functions. Expansion modules enable the
retrofitting of additional functions, such as up
to 75 direct call buttons, radar motion detector
or similar functions via the Behnke bus system
of the intercom station.
