5.3 Overspeed governor has operated
The overspeed governor has operated because, for example, the stairlift was moving too quickly.
This is done as follows:
1. Disconnect the charging assembly (see Tab 7, Section 3.4 - The charging assembly).
2. Disconnect the complete overspeed governor and check for dirt or loose parts that could have
interfered with the operation of the overspeed governor (see Tab 7, Section 3.5 - The
overspeed governor).
3. Thoroughly check the drive unit. Pay particular attention to the drive system.
4. Replace any defective or suspect parts.
5. If no clear cause can be found, replace the complete drive unit.
