Ifthevehicleissubjectedtoanyoftheconditions
listedbelow,maintenanceshouldbeperformedtwice
asfrequently.
•Desertoperation
•Coldclimateoperation(below50°F[10°C])
•Trailertowing
•Drivingtimetypicallylessthan5minutes
•Frequentoperationindustyconditions
•Constructionwork
•Afterextendedoperationinmud,sand,water,or
similardirtyconditions,haveyourbrakesinspected
andcleanedassoonaspossible.Thiswillprevent
anyabrasivematerialfromcausingexcessivewear.
•Underfrequentheavydutyoperatingconditions,
lubricateallgreasettingsandinspectaircleaner
dailytopreventexcessivewear.
JackingtheVehicle
Whenevertheengineisrunforroutinemaintenance
and/orenginediagnostics,therearwheelsofthevehicle
shouldbe1inch(25mm)offthegroundwiththerear
axlesupportedonjackstands.
Thevehiclemaybeunstablewhenusinga
jack.Itcouldslipoffthejack,injuringanyone
beneathit.
•Donotstarttheenginewhilethevehicleis
onajack.
•Alwaysremovethekeyfromtheignition
beforegettingoffofthevehicle.
•Blockthetireswhenthevehicleisonajack.
