1.Disengagethepowertakeoff(PTO),settheparking
brake,andturntheignitionkeytooff.Removethe
key.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
engine'scylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressurewash
themachine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,
especiallynearthedrivesystemandengine.
Pressurewashingcanforcedirtandwaterinto
criticalparts,suchasspindlebearingsand
electricalswitches.
3.Checkthebrake;refertoServicingtheBrakein
Maintenance.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
CleanerinMaintenance.
5.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingand
LubricationinMaintenance.
6.Changetheengineoil;refertoServicingtheEngine
inMaintenance.
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
PressureinMaintenance.
8.Forlong-termstorage:
A.Addstabilizer/conditioneradditivetofuelinthe
tank.
B.Runenginetodistributeconditionedfuelthrough
thefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stopengine,allowtocoolanddrainthefueltank;
refertoServicingtheFuelTankinMaintenance,
oroperateengineuntilitstops.
D.Restartengineandrununtilitstops.Repeat,on
Chokeuntilenginewillnotrestart.
E.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasperlocal
codes.
Note:Donotstorestabilizer/conditioned
gasolineover90days.
9.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;
refertoServicingtheSparkPluginMaintenance.
Withthesparkplug(s)removedfromtheengine,
pourtwotablespoonsofengineoilintothespark
plughole.Nowusethestartertocranktheengine
anddistributetheoilinsidethecylinder.Installthe
sparkplug(s).Donotinstallthewireonthespark
plug(s).
10.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repair
orreplaceanypartthatisdamagedordefective.
11.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
12.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchand
keepitinamemorableplace.Coverthemachineto
protectitandkeepitclean.
