5.5 Stopping the Generator
Before
stopping
Check with other personnel on the jobsite and let them know that power is being
turned off. Make sure that the power shutdown will not create any hazards by
turning off devices such as pumps, heaters, or lights that may need to be kept on.
Stopping
procedure
To stop the generator:
1. Remove all loads from generator.
2. Open (turn to off “O”) main line circuit breaker.
3. Let engine run for approximately 5 minutes to allow it to cool.
4. Turn engine start switch to the STOP position.
5.6 Emergency Shutdown Procedure
Procedure
If a breakdown or accident occurs while the machine is operating, follow the
procedure below:
1. Press the emergency stop button.
2. Stop the engine.
3. Allow the machine to cool before opening the cabinet.
4. Contact the rental yard or machine owner for further instructions.
5.7 Operating in Cold Weather
Prerequisites
Before starting the generator in cold weather make sure that:
the battery is at peak power
the correct weight motor oil is being used
the starter motor is in good condition
