Image Quality
IQ5 Low Image Density RAP
The printed image is light, with no ghosting (Figure 1).
Initial Actions
Remove Print Cartridge. Rotate the cartridge 5-6 full rotations to redistribute the toner. Make a
test print.
Check the life of the Print Cartridge, refer to GP 2 Machine Status and Reports. Replace the
Print Cartridge if it has reached end of life.
If the problems continue, follow the procedure.
Procedure
• Switch off the power.
• Clean the contacts on the Print Cartridge and the LVPS / HVPS PWB.
• Switch on the power and make a test print.
The problem continues.

Go to SCP 04 Final Actions.
Replace the LVPS / HVPS PWB; PL 3.2, (REP 1.6).

The printed image is totally dark or black (Figure 1).
Procedure
WARNING
Do not perform repair activities with the power on or electrical power supplied to the
machine. Some machine components contain dangerous electrical voltages that can
result in electrical shock and possible serious injury.

Go to Call Closeout.
• If the image is Black, replace the LVPS / HVPS PWB; PL 3.1 (REP 1.5).
• The Charge Roller is likely defective, replace the Print Cartridge.

for detailed instructions on how to replace the Print Cartridges.
