CHECKING THE LIGHTING SYSTEM
1. The headlight and the high beam indicator
light fail to come on.

S Check the headlight bulb and socket for
continuity.

2. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
headlight and high beam indicator light cou-
plers as shown.

When the dimmer switch is set to “ ”.
When the dimmer switch is seto to “ ”.
S Set the main switch to “ON”.
S Start the engine.
S Set the dimmer switch to “ ” or “ ”.
S Measure the voltage (12 V) (wire harness
side).
YES NO
This circuit is OK.
Headlight coupler (wire harness side)
Meter light coupler (wire harness side)
S Are the headlight bulb and socket OK?
S Is the voltage within specification?
S Are the meter light bulb and socket OK?
NO YES
Replace the ignitor
unit.
3. Wiring
S Check the entire lighting system’s wiring.
Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM”.
S Is the lighting system’s wiring properly con-
nected and without defects?
Properly connect or
repair the lighting
system’s wiring.
2. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
meter light coupler (wire harness side) as
shown.
