SELF-DIAGNOSTICS FEATURE
SYMPTOM
Red Flashing LED (light) (Power Light also known as Standby light). If the red LED is flashing
constantly then there is a problem with one of the thermistors see the procedure below, if the red LED is
flashing intermittently see notes on following pages regarding “Intermittent flashing red LED”.
SELF-DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
To start the self-diagnostic feature push and hold the MODE button for 5 – 10 seconds. The MODE
button is located under the filter panel on the indoor unit of the wall splits, on the front of the floor
mounted units and on the wall receiver of the ducted units. You will hear 3 short beeps and the lighting
of the Cool and Heat (green and red) LED’s. The unit is now in self-diagnosis mode. If you do not hear
3 beeps then the model you are working on has the old software and does not have the self-diagnosis
feature therefore this service bulletin is not valid.
In the self diagnostic mode the Heat (red) LED will flash 5 times for 5 seconds then stop for 5 seconds
and flash again 5 times repeatedly. If the Cool (green) LED flashes with the red LED a fault exists. Use
the Table on the next page to determine the fault. For example if the green LED flashes with the second
red LED flash (only) the fault is the Indoor Coil Sensor is disconnected (4
th
row on the table on the next
page).
