Operating Temperatures
PowerFlex 700 drives are designed to operate at 0° to 40° C ambient. To operate the drive in installations between 41° and
50° C, see the information below and refer to pages 33-39 for exceptions.

Minimum Mounting Clearances
Frames 0…6
Specified vertical clearance requirements are intended to be from drive to drive. Other objects can occupy this space;
however, reduced airflow may cause protection circuits to fault the drive. In addition, inlet air temperature must not
exceed the product specification.
Frames 7…10
The drive must be mounted with sufficient space at the top, sides, and front of the cabinet to allow for proper heat
dissipation.

Frame Recommendations
7 Allow a minimum of 152 mm (6.0 in.) at the top and bottom of the enclosure and 102 mm (4.0 in.) on the
sides.
Flange Mount - Allow a minimum of 152 mm (6.0 in.) at the back of the enclosure (from flange mount
surface to wall).
8…10 Allow a minimum of 152 mm (6.0 in.) at the top of the enclosure. Additionally, allow a minimum of 102 mm
(4.0 in.) on each side OR 152 mm (6.0 in.) in the back.
