b. If the calculated virtual temperature of the motor (which increases each motor start) is
above the safety limit, the compressor will go in unload mode until the temperature is
decreased below the safety limit.
c. At the end of the unload period the controller checks the pressure. If there is no
pressure request at the end of the cycle and the pressure is above 2/3 of the pressure
band, the compressor stops. If there is a pressure request at the end of the cycle and
the pressure is below 2/3 of the pressure band, the compressor goes into loading
mode.
If the unit is restarting frequently, or is manually restarted by the operator, the controller will
extend the unload period in order to ensure proper motor cooling. This overrules the standard
unload period.
The compressor will automatically restart when the net pressure drops to the minimum limit. In
order to avoid that the pressure in the compressed air distribution piping drops below the
minimum set value, the compressor in stand-by will restart at 0,2 bar (3 psi) over the loading
pressure.
