Start operation with Syscompact 2000 as described under 6.2
After switching on SSG, pulse selection switch is set to DC “=”.
Select SIM MIM at IRG 2000 and start measurement. The IRG 2000 records an echogram
showing the end of the cable (best condition image). IRG 2000 is now waiting for a HV
impulse.
By turning the voltage regulator (SSG), output voltage is increased until ignition is made at
fault position. After expiration of the trigger delay time a transmitting pulse is released
automatically in the IRG 2000. Best condition image and secondary measurement are
displayed simultaneously. A clear identification of the fault position is possible at beginning of
negative reflection.
