Hold the key in the position for unlocking or
locking.
Watch the closing movement to ensure
that no one is trapped. The movement is
stopped when the key is released.<
Manual operation
In the event of an electrical fault, you can lock
and unlock the driver's door by turning the inte-
grated key to the limit positions in the door lock.
Opening and closing:
From the inside
This button locks or unlocks the doors and lug-
gage compartment lid/tailgate when the front
doors are closed, but does not deadlock them.
The fuel filler flap remains unlocked

Automatic locking
You can also set the situations in which the car
locks:

1. Switch on the ignition, see page 45.
2. Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator
lever up or down repeatedly until the sym-
bol and the word "SET" are displayed.
3. Press button 2.
4. Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator
lever down repeatedly until the symbol is
displayed.
5. Press button 2.
6. Press button 1 to select:

The central locking is engaged automat-
ically after a brief moment if no door has
been opened.
>
The central locking is engaged automat-
ically as soon as you drive off.
> or
The central locking is engaged automat-
ically after a brief moment if no door has
been opened or as soon as you drive off.

The central locking system remains
unlocked.
7. Press button 2.
The setting is stored for the remote control
currently in use.
Unlocking and opening
> Either unlock the doors together using the
central locking button and then pull the
door handle above the armrest or
> pull the door handle out twice at any door:
the first pull unlocks the door, the second
one opens it.
Locking
> Either lock all doors at once via the central
locking button, or
