Cruise control
OE
W
Do not engage cruise control
when:
Riding on twisty roads with
poor forward vision
Heavy traffic does not permit
you to maintain a constant
road speed
Riding on wet, unpaved or
dirty roads
The motorcycle might exceed
your chosen cruise control
speed if the engine's braking
effect is insufficient on a down-
hill grade. It could also drop
below this speed when you ride
uphill.
For safety reasons, always
keep both hands on the handle-
bars.
N
With automatic cruise control,
speed can be controlled in the
range between 25 and 100 mph
(40 and 160 km/h).
When the motorcycle is at a stand-
still and – ignition OFF – the sys-
tem is switched off and the stored
road speed is cancelled.
The indicator light for cruise con-
trol is off.
On a motorcycle fitted with
BMW Integral ABS, the cruise-
control system is not operational if
the brake light is defective (red
general warning light
e ON
b 78).
