Checking the fluid level in

the clutch fitting

Never permit the fluid level to

drop below the middle of the

display (MIN)

• Place the motorcycle on its main

(center) stand

– Make sure the ground is level

and firm.

• Turn the steering fully to the

right;

the fluid reservoir must be hori-

zontal

• Read off fluid level on display

MIN Minimum level

(center of display)

The fluid level in the reservoir rises

as the clutch plate wears.

If the fluid level drops, assume

there is a defect in the clutch

system.

Have the clutch system checked

immediately by a BMW-certified

workshop, preferably an autho-

rized BMW motorcycle retailer.
