Maintenance
The brake disc must not be
visible through the bore hole 1
of the inner brake pad. If the
brake disc is visible:
• Have the brake pads
replaced, preferably by an
authorized BMW motorcycle
retailer.
Checking brake fluid
level
If the position of the
brake-fluid reservoir is
changed, air can enter the
brake system.
Do not reposition the handle-
bar controls on the handlebars
or the handlebars in their
mounts.c

• Hold the motorcycle verti-
cally or place it on the center
stand

ground is firm and level.
• Place the handlebars in a
straight ahead position.
• Read off the brake fluid level
at the reservoir.
