HILL START ASSIST
Thissystem(alsocalledHHC-Hill
HolderControl),linkedtothedynamic
stabilitycontrolsystem,makeshill
starts easier and is activated in the
followingconditions:
- thevehiclemustbestationary,
enginerunning,footonthebrake,
- thegradientoftheroadmustbe
steeper than 5%,
- uphill,thegearboxmustbein
neutral or in a gear other than
reverse,
- downhill,reversegearmustbe
engaged.
TheHillStartAssistsystemisadriving
aid.Itisnotanautomaticvehicle
parkingfunctionoranautomatic
parkingbrake.
Operation
Withthebrakepedalandclutchpedal
pressed,fromthetimeyourelease
thebrakepedal,withoutusingthe
parkingbrake,youhaveapproximately
2secondstomoveoffbeforethe
vehiclestartstorollback.
Duringthemovingoffphase,the
functionisdeactivatedautomatically,
graduallyreleasingthebraking
pressure.Duringthisphase,the
characteristicnoiseofmechanical
releaseofthebrakesmaybeheard,
indicatingtheimminentmovementof
thevehicle.
Operating fault
Hill start assist is deactivated in the
followingsituations:
- when the clutch pedal is released,
- whentheparkingbrakeisapplied,
- when the engine is switched off,
- whentheenginestalls.
Ifamalfunctionofthe
systemoccurs,this
warninglampcomeson
accompaniedbyanaudible
signalandconrmedby
amessageinthescreen.Havethe
systemcheckedbyataCITROËN
dealeroraqualiedworkshop.
