1.Restorethefuelsystemstooperation(Figure25).

1.1.Removetheplugfromthefueltankvent.

1.2.Connecttheventtubetothefueltankvent.

2.Connectbatteryandsparkplugwire(s).SeeConnectingtheBattery–GasolineVehiclesonpage13.

3.Completelyopenthefuelshut-offvalve(1)(Figure24).Makesurethevalveisfullyopen.Apartiallyclosedfuel

shut-offvalvecombinedwiththeuseofthechokecanresultinafouledsparkplugandenginefailure.

4.PlacetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALpositionandtheneutrallockoutcamintheMAINTENANCE

position.Cranktheengineuntilfuelispumpedintothecarburetorandfuellinesandtheenginestarts.Turnthe

engineoffandreturntheneutrallockoutcamtotheOPERATEposition.SeefollowingNOTE.

NOTE:Duetotheoiladdedtotheengineinpreparationforstorage,enginemaysmokeexcessivelyforashort

timewhenitisrunforthersttimeafterstorage.
