Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateallthepivotpointsonthedrive system,parking
brakeandlift linkageat leastoncea seasonwithlight oil,
Rear Wheels
Therearwheelsshouldberemovedfromtheaxlesonce
a season,Lubricatethe axlesandthe rimswellwithan
all-purposegreasebeforere-installingthem,
Cleaning the Tractor and Deck
Anyfuelor oil spilledon themachineshouldbewipedoff
promptly.DoNOTallowdebristo accumulatearoundthe
deckpulleysor anyotherpart of the machine,
Periodicallyremovethe beltcoversand removeany
accumulatedgrassclippingsfromaroundthespindle
pulleysandthedeckbelt,
IMPORTANT:Theuse of a pressurewasherto cleanyour
tractoris NOTrecommended,It maycausedamageto
electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearingsorthe
engine,
Deck Wash System TM
Yourtractor'sdeckis equippedwithwaternozzleson its
surfaceaspartofitsdeckwashsystem.
UsetheDeckWashSystemTM to rinsegrassclippings
fromthedeck'sundersideandpreventthebuildupofcor-
rosivechemicals,Completethe followingstepsAFTER
EACHMOWING:
1. Drivethetractorto a level,clearspotonyour lawn,
nearenoughtoa watersillcock(spigot)foryour
gardenhoseto reach,
IMPORTANT:Makecertainthetractor'sdischargechuteis
directedAWAYfromyourhouse,garage,parkedcars,etc,
2, Disengagethe PTO(BladeEngage),setthe parking
brake,andstoptheengine,
3, Threadthenozzleadapter(packagedwithyour
tractor'sOperator'sManual)ontotheendof your
gardenhose,
4. Pullbackthe lockcollarofthe nozzleadapterand
pushtheadapterontothedeckwashnozzleat the left
endofthe mowerdeck,Releasethe lockcollartolock
theadapteron thenozzle,SeeFigure22,

Turnthe wateron.
Whilesittingin theoperator'spositiononthe tractor,
re-starttheengineandplacethethrottle leverin the
FAST(rabbit)position.
7. Movethetractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intothe
ONposition.Remainin theoperator's position
withthecuttingdeckengagedfora minimumof two
minutes,allowingthe undersideof the cuttingdeck
tothoroughlyrinse.
8. Movethetractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intothe OFF
position.Turntheignitionkeyto the STOPposition
toturnthetractor'sengineoff.
9. Pullbackthelockcollarofthe nozzleadapterto
disconnecttheadapterfromthe nozzle.
10,Repeatthe previoussteps4 thru9 tocleanthedeck
usingthenozzleattheotherendofthedeck.
Tires
WARNING:Neverexceedthe maxi-
muminflationpressureshownonthe
sidewalloftire.
Therecommendedoperatingtire pressureis:
° Approximately10psiforthereartires
° Approximately14psifor thefronttires
IMPORTANT:Refertothetiresidewallforexacttire
manufacturer'srecommendedormaximumpsi.Donot
overinflate.Uneventirepressurecouldcausethecutting
decktomowunevenly.
