Oxidant Storage Tank Installation
THE SPECIFICATIONS IN MIOX CORPORATION’S HYDROGEN SAFETY WHITE

BEGINS. ANY DEVIATION FROM THESE SPECIFICATIONS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO PERSON
OR PROPERTY.
The oxidant storage tank is designed to act as a holding tank for the oxidant solution and consists of the
tank, drop tube assembly, vents, outlet valve assembly, and safety placards. A level switch or pressure
transducer is also included depending on the tank’s capacity.
Ventilation Requirements
MIOX Corporation oxidant tanks require a drop tube, Liquid Barrier System (LBS) hydrogen vent, and
Oxidant Tank hydrogen vent (Figure 8). A drop tube assembly and LBS vent assembly are shipped with
the oxidant tank. The user is responsible for supplying CPVC piping to attach to the top of the LBS vent
tee and for the Oxidant Tank Vent. Vents must be installed with a minimum drain slope of 0.5 in. per
foot (1.3 cm per meter), sloping towards the tank. If the oxidant tank is not supplied by MIOX
Corporation, a drop tube assembly and LBS vent assembly must be fabricated on-site.
