Removing the I/O board

Prerequisites
CAUTION: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS setup program’s settings to default. Before removing
the I/O board along with the coin-cell battery, it is recommended to note the BIOS setup program’s settings.
1. Remove the optical drive.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the hard drive.
Procedure
1. Open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
2. Peel the I/O-board cable from the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
3. Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the I/O board to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
4. Lift the I/O board, along with the cable, off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
