5.6 Setting High Efficiency mode
In High Efficiency mode, the UPS normally runs in the bypass state. When the power grid fails, the UPS will
switch to the Mains Supply (or Battery) mode within 10ms. It will then monitor the bypass voltage for
5 minutes before switching to High Efficiency mode: If the bypass power supply quality exceeds the allowable
range, the UPS will remain in Online mode.
Eaton suggests you use HE mode only to protect IT devices.
To set HE mode:
1. Choose Settings > Input/Output Settings > HE Mode.
2. Select "Enable" and press Enter to confirm.
3. The UPS will switch to HE mode in 5 minutes.
5.7 Configuration Bypass Settings
The following settings are for configuring bypass operation.
Bypass Voltage Lower Limit
If the measured bypass voltage is 20% lower than the nominal output voltage, Bypass mode is disabled by
default. This voltage lower limit can be modified.
This setting can be overridden by the bypass "Enable Settings".
Bypass Voltage Upper Limit
If the measured bypass voltage is 15% higher than the nominal output voltage, Bypass mode is disabled by
default. This voltage upper limit can be modified.
This setting can be overridden by the bypass "Enable Settings".
Bypass Enable Settings
The "In Specification" setting applies by default, where the UPS can switch to Bypass mode only when the
bypass voltage meets the following specifications.
The bypass voltage is between the "Bypass Voltage Lower Limit" and the "Bypass Voltage Upper
Limit" values.
The bypass frequency is within ±5% of the nominal frequency.
You can also use the following settings:
"Never" - Bypass is always disabled.
"Always" - Bypass is always allowed without a bypass power supply quality check.
"When UPS is in Fault" - Refers to always switching to Bypass mode in the event of a UPS fault.
Otherwise, the UPS will run with default settings.
Frequency Range
When the bypass frequency is within the set "Frequency Range", the UPS will try a phase-locked loop with
the bypass. When the bypass frequency exceeds the set value, the UPS will stick to the nominal frequency
for output.
Switch Settings
When the bypass "Enable Settings" is set to "Always or "Always when Fault", you can choose an interruption
duration for switching to the bypass, which is "Half Cycle" by default. You can change it to "Full Cycle".
