25. Defects - Malfunctions
Direct action by the customer
Before calling service personnel, to avoid useless expense, check whether the machine problem corresponds to one of
the cases listed below.
DEFECT
The coffee machine does not work and
the display (14) is blank.
The coffee machine doesn't work even
though the main switch is in the correct
position.
Leak from edge of ¿lter-holder (21,
25).
Coffee Àow time too short.
Water leaks from under the machine.
Machine heated up, but it does not
dispense coffee.
The automatic level control devices
remain in operation.
The coffee is warm and weak (after
normal time of brew and Àow).
The reading on the pressure gauge (8)
of the pump pressure is greater than 9
bars.
REMEDY
Check that the electricity is on.
Check the position of the main switch
(1).
Press the STOP (37) key for a few
seconds to force switch-on.
Reprogram the clock.
Clean with the supplied brush.
Grind the coffee more ¿nely.
Change the coffee
Clean the tank.
Clean.
Open.
Wait until water is available or call a
plumber.
Same solution as above.
Press the coffee distribution button 2/3
times to try and eliminate the air bubble.
Call the authorized servicing department.
CAUSE
No electricity.
Wrong programming of the switch-on
times.
The undercup gasket is dirty with coffee
residue.
Coffee grinds too coarse.
Coffee too old.
Drainage tank clogged.
Discharge pan hole blocked.
Water supply or water softener tap
closed. No water in system.
Same causes as above.
Air bubble in thermosyphonic circulation
system.
The pump’s by-pass valve is blocked.
