Duetothedifferencesbetweenthewayeachsur
roundmodeoperates,somemodesallowfora greater
rangeof delaytimesthanothers]b avoidproblems,
werecommendthatdelaytimesbeadjustedusingthe
DolbyDigitalmodeIfa differentmodeisselectedata
latertime,theAVR525 willautomaticallyrestrictthe
delayselfingsto thoserequiredby thesurroundmode
in use
DelaytimesareonlyadjustablefortheDolbymodes,
soyouwillnoticethattheDELAY menumaynot
beaccessedwhenanyothermode,suchasa DIS or
Logic7 option,hasbeenselectedInaddition,whena
non-DolbyDigitalmodesuchas Dolby3 Stereoor
ProLogicIIisselected,adjustmentsmaybemadeto

Output Level Adjustment
Outputleveladjustmentisa keypartoftileconfigura
tionofanysurroundsoundproductIt is particularly
impoflantfora digitalreceiversuchastheAVR525,
ascorrectoutputsensurethatyouhearsoundtracks
withtheproperdirectionalilyandintensily
IMPORTANTNOTE:Listenersareoftenconfused
abouttheoperationof thesurroundchannelsWhile
someassumethatsoundshouldalwaysbecoming
fromeachspeaker,mostofthetimetherewillbelilfle
or nosoundinthesurroundchannelsThisisbecause
theyareonlyusedwhena moviedirectororsound
mixerspecificallyplacessoundtheretocreateambi

levelsmanually,werecommendthattheEzSetsystem
beusedwhentheAVRisfirstinstalledtoestablishthe

possibleto quicklyandaccuratelysettheAVR525's
outputlevelswithouttheuseofa soundpressure
meter,althoughmanualadjustmentisalsoavailable
