OPERATION
This Stereo Amplifier will operate
from
any
120
or
240
volt
50/60
Hz
AC
power
source.
All
of
the operating controls
and
switches are
clearly
marked
and
are
accessible
from
the
front.
Connections
to speaker systems
and
auxiliary
equipment are
clearly
marked
and
are
made
at
the
rear
of the chassis.
Phono
input level controls
Rl23
and
Rl24,
on
the amplifier
circuit
board are
used
to
adjust
the
phono
input source levels
to prevent overload
of
the preamplifier
circuits
when
high-output
phono
cartridges
are used.
Two
AC
sockets
on
the
rear
panel
(one
switched
and
one
unswitched) are provided
for
other equipment such
as
a
tuner,
turntable
etc.
NOTE:
If
your Amplifier
is
wired to operate
from
a
240
VAC
source,
the
auxiliary
AC
sockets will also provide
240
AC
power.
SETTING
THE
CONTROLS
Refer to Figure 1-7 (fold-out
from
Page
40)
and
Figure 1-6 (fold-out
from
Page
43)
for the following
steps.
( )
First
set
all
of
the
front
panel
pushbuttons to the
OFF
(out)
position except the
TUNER
pushbutton.
( ) Preset the Amplifier controls
and
pushbuttons
as
follows:
SPKRS:
ON
( ) Connect a
turntable
to the
PHONO
input sockets. A
stereo
record
should
be
put
on
the
turntable
to
furnish a signal during the
adjust-
ments
that
follow.
( ) Connect the output
of
a portable
radio to the
AUX
input sockets.
( ) Connect the output
of
a tape
recorder to the
TAPE
input sockets.

( ) Connect the monitor output cables
from
the tape recorder
to
the
TAPE

The
signal sources will
be
connected to
the
INPUT
sockets of the Amplifier in
the following
steps.
If
any
of these
sources are not
available,
disregard
the
instructions
for
that
source
until
one
becomes
available.
( ) Connect a
stereo
tuner to the
TUNER
input sockets.
MON
input sockets.
( ) Connect the input
from
the tape
recorder to the
TAPE
OUT
sockets.
( )
Push
the
POWER
pushbutton to
ON.
( )
Turn
each
of
these external units on.
Then
alternately
press the
TUNER,
AUX,
TAPE,
and
PHONO
pushbuttons to
make
sure each signal source
is
operating.
