TROUBLESHOOTING
Engine will not start
1. No fuel.
2. Throttle lever in STOP position.
3. Spark plug wire loose or disconnected.
4. Spark plug faulty or improperly gapped (p. 29).
5. Engine flooded (p. 19).
6. Dirty air cleaner (p. 28).
7. Battery discharged (p. 38).
8. Circuit breaker tripped.
Hard starting or loss of power
1. Dirt in gas tank (p. 28).
2. Dirty air cleaner (p. 28).
3. Water in gas tank or carburetor.
4. Vent in gas cap and/or carburetor clogged.
Erratic operation
1. Spark plug faulty or improperly gapped (p. 29).
2. Dirty air cleaner (p. 28).
Engine overheats
1. Spark plug improperly gapped (p. 29).
2. Dirty air cleaner (p. 28).
3. Dirty cooling tins.
4. Low oil level (p. 12).
Excessive vibration
5. Starter pulley clogged by grass, etc.
