What to do if Honda Lawn Mower is losing power?
- EEric LucasAug 15, 2025
If your Honda Lawn Mower is losing power, there are several potential causes. First, check that the throttle is set to HIGH. If the grass is too tall, raise the cutting height, cut a narrower swath, or cut more frequently. A clogged cutter housing can also cause power loss, so clean it out. Similarly, a clogged air filter can restrict performance, so clean or replace it. Bad fuel, resulting from the mower being stored without treating or draining petrol, or refuelling with bad petrol, can also lead to power loss; in this case, drain the fuel tank and carburettor and refuel with fresh petrol. Lastly, issues like a clogged fuel filter, carburettor malfunction, ignition malfunction, or stuck valves could be responsible, requiring you to replace or repair the faulty components.
