Verification

Use the display dot1x command to display the 802.1X configuration. After the host obtains an IP

address from a DHCP server, use the ping command from the host to ping an IP address on the network

segment specified by free IP.

C:\>ping 192.168.2.3

Pinging 192.168.2.3 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.2.3: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 192.168.2.3:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

The output shows that you can access that segment before passing 802.1X authentication. If you use a

web browser to access any external website beyond the free IP segments, you are redirected to the web

server, which provides the 802.1X client software download service. Enter the external website address

in dotted decimal notation, for example, 3.3.3.3 or http://3.3.3.3, in the address bar.
