Removal and Replacement Procedures— Small Form Factor (SFF) Chassis
7.7.3 External 3.5-in ch D r ive
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 7.1).
2. Remove the access panel (Section 7.3).
3. Remove the front bezel (Section 7.4).
4. Remove the optical drive (Section 7.7.2).
5. .Disconnect the data 1 and power 2 cables from the drive. The other end of the cables
should remain connected to the system board. (Diskette drive is shown.)
6. Press down on the lever to the left of the drive 1, slide the drive back until it stops, and lift it
straight up 2.
