Drive cage
You can remove the drive cage from the computer. You must remove the optical drive to remove the drive
cage. Remove the hard drive from the cage after removing the drive cage.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 17).
2. Remove the optical drive from the drive cage:
a. Disconnect the power cable (1) and data cable (2) from the rear of the optical drive.
b. Press the release lever on the back of the drive (3).
c. Slide the drive out of the front of the chassis (4).
3. Disconnect the data cable (1) and power cable (2) from the rear of the hard drive, and remove the cables
from the retainer clip (3).
