Clean the drive weekly by inserting a HP DDS cleaning
tape. This will keep the drive clean for maximum
reliability. Do not clean the DDS tape drive too often
since this can reduce the life expectancy of the tape
drive.

Insert the cleaning cartridge into the drive and wait
for the clean to take place. The tape is ejected at the
end.

If you have been experiencing problems with your
drive (read/write problems, performance problems,
etc) or you have not cleaned your drive for a while,
then repeat the clean five times in total.
