IBM 5250 Express Adapter Support Diskettes
The IBM 5250 Express Adapter Support Diskettes, which are provided
with the adapter, contain test, configuration, and support files:
Test files
These files provide standalone diagnostics for testing the
supported IBM 5250 Express adapters.
Configuration files
These files configure your adapter
as
is required for
testing. Your emulation software might require a
different configuration than the tests require.
Installation and support files
These files provide adapter support for various emulation
software packages, such
as:

IBM 5250 Express Program
Client Access
• Personal Communications
For directions on installing the adapter support files, see
"Using the IBM 5250 Express Installation Program" on
page 20.
These adapter support files are provided
as
a
convenience. To obtain the latest level of adapter
support files, contact customer support for the emulation
software that you are using.
Emulation Software
This section provides information about the compatible IBM 5250
emulation programs for DOS, Windows**, and OS/2 environments.

Note: Before installing an emulation program, make sure that the
following requirements are met:

The PC is correctly connected to
the
host cabling system .
The host
is
turned on and operating correctly .
The system administrator has assigned at least one display
station address for your use.
IBM DOS
The following IBM 5250 emulation programs are available for DOS
5.0 and later:
•
Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.4 and later
•
5250 Express Program Version 4.0 and later
• PC Support 36/38 using the DP5250.COM emulation program
that is supplied with the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program
Version 2.4 or later
