Powering on the optional 2U SAS expansion enclosures
After you install all the hardware components, power on the optional 2U SAS expansion enclosures and
check their status.
About this task
Attention:
Do not power on an expansion enclosure with any open bays or slots.
• Every unused drive bay must be occupied by a ller panel.
• Filler panels must be installed in all empty host interface adapter slots.
Open bays or slots disrupt the internal air flow, causing the drives to receive insufcient cooling.
Procedure
To power on the 2U SAS expansion enclosures, complete the following steps.
1. Use the supplied power cords to connect both power supply units of the rst expansion enclosure to
their power sources.
If the power sources have circuit breakers or switches, ensure that they are turned on. The expansion
enclosure does not have power switches. Repeat this step for each expansion enclosure in the system.
