TROUBLE SHOOTING Warning! Be sure to always turn the hand wheel towards you (counterclockwise). Turning it the other way may cause
damage to the needle or fabric, and you may be injured.
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The stitches form loops • The top thread has not been threaded through the
needle correctly.
• The bobbin thread has not been threaded into the
bobbin case correctly.
• Thread the needle from the front to the back.
• Thread the bobbin thread into the bobbin case correctly (see
page 12).
The stitches shrink or
the fabric puckers
• The needle is too big for the fabric.
• Thread tension is too tight.
• Use a smaller needle.
• Adjust the top thread tension (see page 23).
The fabric is not fed
evenly through the
machine
• The quality of the thread is not good enough.
• The bobbin thread has not been threaded into the
bobbin case correctly.
• You pull the fabric while sewing.
• Use a better thread.
• Thread the bobbin thread into the bobbin case correctly (see
page 12).
• Let the machine feed the fabric through
automatically.
The sewing machine
is noisy and sews with
difculty
• There are traces of uff and oil in the feed dogs or
needle holder.
• The needle is damaged.
• Clean the feed dogs and needle holder
(see page 24).
• Install a different needle.
The needle hits the
bobbin case and breaks
• The retaining ring is not in the correct position, and
the levers are not locked.
• The bobbin case is not in the correct position.
• Forcing the fabric may cause the needle to bend
or break.
• Install the retaining ring and bobbin case according to the
instructions (see page 25 and 26).
• Feed the fabric while sewing instead of forcing it.
