– Lean the motorcycle on the side stand.

– Shift gear to neutral.

– In the area of chain sliding guard, press the chain upward toward the swingarm and

determine chain tension A.

The upper chain section B must be taut.

Chain wear is not always even, so you should repeat this measurement at differ-

ent chain positions.

Chain tension 5… 7 mm (0.2… 0.28 in)

» If the chain tension does not meet specifications:

– Adjust the chain tension. ( p. 84)
