Loosen screw .
Turn adjusting ring until the spring is no longer under tension.
Combination wrench (50329080000)
Hook wrench (T106S)
Measure the overall spring length when not under tension.
Tighten the spring by turning adjusting ring to measurement .
Guideline
(EXCF, EXCF SIX DAYS, XCF-W)
Spring preload 8 mm (0.31 in)

Spring preload 6 mm (0.24 in)

Depending on the static sag and/or the riding sag, it may be necessary to
increase or decrease the spring preload.
Tighten screw .
Guideline
Screw, shock absorber adjusting ring M6 5 Nm (3.7 lbf ft)
Install the shock absorber. x ( p. 45)

Remove shock absorber. x ( p. 45)
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.
Choose and mount a suitable spring.

Weight of rider: 65… 75 kg (143… 165 lb.) 66 N/mm (377 lb/in)
Weight of rider: 75… 85 kg (165… 187 lb.) 69 N/mm (394 lb/in)
Weight of rider: 85… 95 kg (187… 209 lb.) 72 N/mm (411 lb/in)

The spring rate is shown on the outside of the spring.
Smaller weight differences can be compensated by changing the spring preload.

Adjust the rebound damping of the shock absorber. ( p. 42)
