Bent radiator hose – Change the radiator hose.
Thermostat defective – Check the thermostat.

– Check the cylinder head and cylinder
head gasket.
Gear oil exits at the vent hose Too much gear oil added – Check the gear oil level. ( p. 147)
Water in the gear oil Damaged shaft seal ring or
water pump
– Check the shaft seal ring and water
pump.
Malfunction indicator lamp
lights up or flashes
Defect in the fuel injection sys-
tem
– Check the cabling for damage and the
electrical plug-in connections for corro-
sion and damage.
– Read out the fault memory using the
KTM diagnostics tool.
12-V battery discharged The 12-V battery is not being
charged by the alternator
– Check the charging voltage.
– Check the stator winding of the alter-
nator.
Unwanted power consumer – Check the open-circuit current.
