– Pull off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and hang to
the side.

Protect the components against damage by covering
them.
Do not kink the cables and lines.

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.

Main work
– Clean the bearing and sealing elements, check for damage,
and grease.
High viscosity grease ( p. 149)
– Insert the lower triple clamp with the steering stem. Mount the
upper steering head bearing.

Check whether upper steering head seal

is correctly posi-
tioned.

Slide on protective ring

and O-ring

– Position the upper triple clamp with the handlebar.

Mount screw

but do not tighten yet.
