Careful
operation
is
your
best
insurance
against
an
accident
.
Be
sure
to
learn
how
to
operate
the
mower
and
observe
the
following
precautions
.
It
is
the
owner's
legal
obligation
to
instruct
all
operators
in
safe
operation
.
Before
allowing
other
people
to
use
your
mower,
explain
how
to
operate
and
have them
read
this
manual
before
operation
.

Do
not
operate
the
machine
while
under
the
influen-
ce
of
alcohl,
medication,
on
other
substances
or
while
fatigued
.

Be
thoroughly
familiar
with
the
controls
and
learn
how
to
stop
quickly
in
emergency
.
Know
your
equip-
ments
and
its
limitations
.
(3)
Wear
long
pants
and
protective
footwear
.
Do
not
wear
loose,
torn
or
bulky
clothing
to
avoid
entangl-
ment
with
the
rotating
parts
.
Do
not
operate
the
mower
when
barefoot
or
wearing
open
sandals
.

Do
not
allow
children
to
operate
the
mower
.

blade
and
equipment
(1)
Never
operate
the
mower
without
proper
guards,
shields,
and
the
grass
catcher
bag
or
deflector
in
place
.

Keep
all
nuts, bolts
and
screws
tight
to
be
sure
the
mower
is
in
safe
working
condition
.
(3)
Check
the
blade
and
the
engine
mounting
bolts
at
frequent
intervals
for
proper
tightness
.
(4)
Check
bag
or
deflector frequently
for
wear
and
dete-
rioration
and
replace
worn
bags
or
deflectors
.
Check
that
replacement
bags
or
deflectors
comply
with
ori-
ginal
Kubota
parts
.
(5)
Inspect
the
blade
for
wear
and
damage
.
A
dull
blade
can
be
sharpened,
but
a
blade
that
is
worn
out,
bent,
cracked,
or
otherwise
damaged
must
be
replaced
.
Turn
the
mower
sideways
with
the
muffler
side facing
up
when
checking
inside
the
cutter
deck
.

The
mower
is
equiped
with
many
safety
devices
.
Do
not
alter
or
remove
any
part
of
safety
system
for
your
safety
.

area

Thoroughly
inspect
the
area
where
the
mower
is
to
be
used

Remove
all
stones,
sticks,
wires,
bones
and
other
objects
that
could
be
thrown
at
high
speed

operation
area
clear

persons,

small
children,
and
pets

adding
fuel

and

filler
cap
is
securely
closed

refueling

not
put

hands
into
the
discharge
guard

your
hands

feet
away

cutter
deck
while
the
blade
is
rotating
.
Do
not
put
hands
or
feet
near
or
under
rotating
parts
.
Keep
clear
of
the
discharge
opening
at
all
times
.

Mow
only
in
daylight
or
in
good
artificial
light
.
Never
operate
the
mower
in
the
rain
or
in
wet
grass
.
Keep
a
firm
hold
on
the
handle
.
Do
not
interfere
with nor-
mal motion
of
mower
.

Do
not
stand
in
front
of
the
mower
while
the
engine
is
running
.
(6)
Never
direct
discharge
of
grass
towards
persons
or
pets
to
avoid
thrown
objects
hitting
them
.
(7)
Release
the
blade
clutch
lever to
stop
the
blade
before
reaching
areas
with
loose
stones,
or
gravel
.
(8)
When
mowing
tall
grass,
set
the
mower
blade
to
a
higher
position
.
Always
check
the
mower
area
for
hidden
objects
.
(9)
Stop
engine
immediately
when
heaving
an
abnormal
noise
.
Make
a complete
check
and remove
objects
causing
the
problem,
or
contact
your
dealer
.
(10)
Push
the
mower
for
better
directional
control
when
mowing
around
trees,
or
trimming
an
edge
.
Do
not
use
the
drive
clutch
lever
.

)
Never
attempt
to
make a
wheel
height
adjustment
while
the
engine
is
running
.
