Removing and installing hardware
This section provides instructions on how to remove and install hardware for your computer. You can expand
the capabilities of your computer and maintain your computer by removing or installing hardware.
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 “Important safety information” on page 1.
Power cord
Prerequisite
Before you start, read Chapter 1 “Important safety information” on page 1 and print the following
instructions.
Before you remove the power cord, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
Replacement procedure
1. Turn off the computer and remove all connected devices.
2. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the computer.
4. Perform the removal procedure in reverse to reinstall a new CRU.
