WhenthisfeatureissettoDisabled,allinternalharddiskdrivesaredisabledandwill
notbedisplayedinthesystemconguration.Whendisablingthisfeature,makesure
yoursystemhasanalternatebootmethod,suchasLANPXEboot,orabootable
memorykeyordisc.
Toenableordisableadevice,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage49.
2.Dependingonthedeviceyouwanttoenableordisable,dooneofthefollowing:
•FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectDevices➙USBSetup.Followtheinstructionson
thescreentoenableordisabletheUSBconnectors.
•FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectDevices➙SAS/SATADriveSetup.SelectICH
SATAorMarvellSATA/SAScontroller.Then,selectthedesiredsettingsandpressEnter.
3.PressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu.Y oumighthavetopressEscseveraltimes.
4.PressF10tosavethenewsettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.

a.Ifyoudonotwanttosavethenewsettings,selectExit➙ExittheSetupUtilitywithoutsaving.
b.Ifyouwanttoreturntothedefaultsettings,pressF9orselectExit➙LoadDefaultSettings.
Selectingastartupdevice
Ifyourcomputerdoesnotstartupfromadevice(suchasaharddiskdriveorthediscinanopticaldrive)as
expected,dooneofthefollowingtoselectthedesiredstartupdevice.
Selectingatemporarystartupdevice
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoselectatemporarystartupdevice.Youcanusetheinstructions
inthissectiontostartupfromanystartupdevice.
Note:Notalldiscsandharddiskdrivesarebootable.
Toselectatemporarystartupdevice,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffyourcomputer.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.WhentheStartupDevice
Menuopens,releasetheF12key.
3.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceontheStartupDeviceMenuandpressEntertobegin.
