Initial Checkout and Troubleshooting
Verify power wiring to the transformer has been completed before proceeding (see Power Wiring on page 19). The CSM
controller does not include an on/off switch. To apply power, insert the 6-position power connector to the board. See
Figure 29 for the locations of status LEDs on the CSM controller.
Checking the Heartbeat LED
When power is first supplied to the controller, the red heartbeat LED comes on solid for approximately 10 seconds and
then begins to blink. The LED should blink about once per second.
After applying power to the controller, if the heartbeat LED does not come on or comes on (steady) and stays lit longer
than two minutes, contact the McQuay Controls Group at 866-4McQuay (866-462-7829).
About the Battery
The CSM is provided with a sealed lead acid battery, which is nearly fully charged, so the CSM has battery backup
protection immediately upon installation.
