Activating and deactivating the child safety lock
for the rear side windows

To activate/deactivate: press button 2.
The rear side window can be opened or closed
in the following cases:

Indicator lamp 1 is lit: via the switch on
the driver's door
R
Indicator lamp 1 is o: via the switch on
the corresponding rear door or driver's
door

When the child safety lock is activated, the
touchscreen display in the rear passenger
compartment is also locked.
Occupant presence reminder
Function of the occupant presence reminder
The occupant presence reminder can help to
remind you about a child who may have been for-
gotten in the rear passenger compartment of the
vehicle. It activates and deactivates automatically
when the rear door is open for an extended period
of time and a child, which the system presumes to
be present, could enter or exit the vehicle.
When the vehicle is switched o, the Do Not
Leave People or Animals in the Vehicle message
will appear on the driver's display if the system
has previously activated automatically.
You can permanently deactivate the function in
the multimedia system (/ page 70). When the
system is deactivated, the p indicator lamp in
the driver's display lights up.
